About the middle dot symbol

A small, vertically centred dot. The middle dot is used as a punctuation mark in Catalan, where it appears between certain paired letters (l·l) to indicate a distinct pronunciation, and in some other languages for similar orthographic purposes. It also functions as a multiplication sign in some contexts and as a bullet point in plain-text lists.
