Star rating symbols
Solid and outline stars for review widgets, ratings and "out of 5" displays.
Building a five-star rating in plain text means picking two glyphs: a filled star for earned points and an outlined star for the rest. ★ and ☆ are the classic pairing — both BMP characters, both rendered identically by every font that covers Latin-1.
If you need richer variants — heavier weights, sparkles, or asymmetric flourishes — the dingbats block delivers ✦ ✧ ✩ ✪ ✫. They're decorative rather than functional; use them in headings and bios, not in the rating widget itself, where consistency matters more than character.
