Checkmarks, ticks and crosses

✓ ✕ ✘ ✔ — affirmation and rejection marks for lists and status copy.

Two glyphs carry most of the binary-decision weight on the web: ✓ (check) for done, allowed, true; ✕ (multiplication sign-style cross) for not done, denied, false. Both are single BMP characters that render the same on every modern platform — far more reliable than the green/red emoji equivalents, which vary in shape across iOS, Android and Windows.

For weightier emphasis the heavy variants ✔ and ✘ work well in feature-comparison tables and pricing pages, where a thin tick can disappear next to bold body text. Avoid mixing the two weights in the same list — pick one and stay consistent.
