About the left floor symbol

In mathematical and technical typesetting, the left floor symbol marks the beginning of a floor function expression, where it pairs with a right floor symbol to enclose a value that is rounded down to the nearest integer. It is also used in computer science and formal logic for similar bracketing of expressions. As an opening punctuation character in the Miscellaneous Technical block, it has a standardized appearance across fonts and systems, distinct from ordinary brackets.
