About the euro sign symbol
The Euro sign is the official currency symbol for the euro, the monetary unit used by the European Union's eurozone member states. It appears on price tags, financial documents, and currency exchange boards throughout Europe and in international markets.
Designed to resemble a capital E with two horizontal strokes, the symbol was inspired by the Greek letter epsilon and references the first letter of the word "Europe." The parallel lines are meant to suggest stability. It is encoded in the Currency Symbols block of Unicode.
