About the caduceus symbol

The caduceus is a symbol depicting a staff entwined by two serpents, often topped with wings. In modern contexts it is frequently associated with medicine and healthcare, though this usage stems from historical confusion with the Rod of Asclepius, which features a single serpent. The caduceus appears on medical signage, in pharmaceutical logos, and on official emblems of certain health organizations. It is also used generically to represent commerce, negotiation, or messengers due to its classical association with the Greek god Hermes.
